COPD National Action Plan

COPD is a serious illness—that few know about. The National Action Plan is an important step forward in diagnosing and raising awareness. It is a deceptively simple project—what you are seeing is the culmination of years of work and multiple rounds of revisions, as such important publications are wont to have.

COPD is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. An estimated 16 million people are currently diagnosed with COPD, and millions more are believed to have it but do not know it. “

508-compliant design

508 compliance is an American term for accessibility, referring to the Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and applies to all federal agencies (effectiveJanuary 18, 2018). The U.S. guidelines also match other guidelines and standards, including those issued by the European Commission, and the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. In practice, this translates to a multitude of technical “behind-the-scenes” specifications, such as minimum color contrast and text organization norms. Having routinely worked with government clients, I am very familiar with the requirements of such work.

A variety of tools are available to promote that COPD National Action Plan including a digital toolkit, fact sheet, video, animations, and social media resources.”
