Wedding Invitation

Angela and Nicolaas needed distinctive wedding invites to match the style of their DIY, black&white-themed wedding that took place in a South African rose garden. The result was hand-printed invitations with a custom rose-inspired monogram — printed in white on black and craft papers.

Print run: 160 hand-crafted invitations

This was truly a custom art & design project. The envelopes, invitations, and paper inserts were hand-printed by a master printmaker. The groom was the one that suggested we make the rose a pop-up, while the bride researched the templates and assembled all the invitations once the individual rose petals were cut with a cameo printer. Finally, the bride hand lettered each envelope.

I am happy to report that the bride and groom are still best friends with the designer/printmaker couple… even after the project’s completion.

It’s a special kind of honor to be trusted to create a piece of design that announces a new couple to the world—I get goosebumps every. time. It would be lovely to be able to help you with a design of your own.
